I'm Steven B. Harkness, and I am grateful for your visit. I am American author and songwriter living in Louisiana with my teenage son and two dogs.
I am a veteran of the Shock and Awe campaign in the Iraq war. I have a Master's, and studied history with an emphasis on human organization and the evolution of financial structures.
I recently published on my second novel, Konjo. It will be available for purchase on October 31st of 2025. I am currently working on my third novel, Brinka, with a release scheduled for Halloween of 2026.
I am also researching the impact of drone warfare on geopolitics and cultural attitudes for a future work of nonfiction, which will be called Suspected Militant. In this book, I will contend that the use of unmanned systems for targeted assassinations is illegal, immoral, ineffective, and counterproductive. I hope to write and publish many more works in the future.

Suspected Militant: Improvised Implosion Device
My debut album is a composite of rock, pop, and edm influences. It traces a journey through a series of timultuous relationships during a period of my life when my views and values were in a state of flux.
The album features a cover of Billy Idol's Rebel Yell and Scream of the Butterfly by Acid Bath, and also contains elements from Afroman and the movie Valhalla Rising. It was recorded with FL studio, a Yamaha DJX2 Keyboard, a four-string ESP LTD bass guitar, an Akai MPK Mini midi controller, and a Tonor microphone. It is meant to be hobbycraft.
